Matt Rosenstein became Director of Global Education and Training (GET) in 2015. Since February 2017 he has also been serving as the Director of the Shanghai Office. Prior to joining GET, from 2010-2015 he was Senior Associate Director of the European Union Center (EUC) at the University of Illinois. Rosenstein also served as EUC’s Director of Graduate Studies for the Master of Arts degree program in EU Studies. Previously, Rosenstein was Associate Director of the Program in Arms Control, Disarmament and International Security (ACDIS) at Illinois from 2001-2010. He holds Ph.D. and M.A. degrees from the University of Illinois, and a B.A. degree from Duke University.

Matt joined the staff of China Executive Leadership Programs (CELP)—now Global Education and Training (GET)—in 2010, after four years working in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) Student Affairs Office at the University of Illinois. Matt has developed and implemented programs for senior officials from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation, Agricultural Development Bank of China, the Ministry of Public Security of China and many others. He has also organized a summer course for undergraduates from a variety of Chinese universities to come to the UI and study with some of the university’s award-winning faculty. Matt is a graduate of the University of Illinois, earning a bachelor’s in English and philosophy.

Kathy joined Global Education and Training in May 2015. Prior to joining GET, she worked as the Administrative Aide in Illinois Abroad and Global Exchange since 2013. As the administrative aide, Kathy supports the director, maintains department calendar, provides human resources support, and manages student workers. She enjoys helping students, parents, faculty, and staff.

Andrea joined the staff of Global Education and Training (GET) in 2017 after graduating with her M.S. in Global Studies and International Relations at Northeastern University in Boston. With her passion for (and master’s concentration in) Global Student Mobility, Andrea has coordinated international programs in the Office of Global Initiatives at Berklee College of Music in Boston, coordinated university programs aimed at domestic-international student integration, and worked on-site for a study abroad program in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Here at Illinois, she worked as a Program Assistant for International Education within the Asian American Cultural Center. Her Alma Mater is the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she received her dual-degree B.F.A. in Dance and B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature.

Meng (Monica) joined Global Education and Training (GET) in 2017 as a Program Specialist. She has developed and implemented educational and training programs, including long term specialized programs for administrators, summer school programs for undergraduates, and short-term customized programs for international business executives. She has created and managed both GET WeChat and Weibo (Chinese Twitter) social media platforms. Prior to joining GET, she was a graduate student in East Asian Languages and Cultures at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She became passionate about international teaching and learning after six years of teaching Chinese language and culture as well as Business Chinese at multiple universities in the United States. She holds an M.A. degree in Language Pedagogy from Indiana University Bloomington and a B.A. degree in Teaching Chinese as a second language from Beijing Language and Culture University.

A native of Champaign, Illinois, Teresa joined the GET team as business manager in April 2015. She has worked at the University of Illinois for 26 years. Her career began as a Clerk Typist III at Division of Specialized Care for Children. She advanced to Staff Secretary within a year. After receiving her degree, she was hired as a Coordinator with University Payables and is now in her current position as Business Manager. Teresa received her Bachelor of Science in Business Degree from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Illinois in May 2001. She and her family are avid Illinois Sports Fans, and she is a member of the University of Illinois Quarterback Club and Rebounders Club. In her spare time, she likes to read, volunteer for local community events and help those less fortunate than her.

Robert (Rob) Marinelli joined the China Executive Leadership Programs (CELP)—now Global Education and Training—in 2009 as a program coordinator. He has organized programs for top banks and financial services organizations, including the People’s Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Development Bank, Agricultural Development Bank of China, People’s Insurance Company of China, and Export-Import Bank of China. Rob has also coordinated a variety of public administration programs for senior officials representing provincial and national government agencies, including the Ministry of Justice of China, and the Fujian Province Economic and Trade Commission. Prior to joining CELP, Rob was the prepress supervisor for Phillips Brothers Printers where he assisted a national client base in planning and preparing printed materials. Rob earned his B.A. in management at the University of Illinois at Springfield and was a member of the Illinois Air National Guard for nine years.
